Transformers At The Moon turns 12

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers At The Moon turns 12.

12 years ago today, 29th October 1999, Transformers At The Moon was first launched.  The website, at that time, operated from the domain www.transformers.themoon.co.uk which was based from the email address transformers@themoon.  It was by registering this email account that we decided to settle on the name for the site.  Whilst both the email address and the domain have since moved to domains owned by us and to better reflect the focus of the website, Transformers toys, the site has continued to be maintained by the two brothers who first launched it.

We had hoped to launch the 9th version of the website to coincide with the anniversary of the site, however due to my computer at home failing, that project is still outstanding.

We will, however, still run the 12th anniversary celebrations, in terms of new special content and announcements, just as soon as wee are able to.  But in the mean time we would like to express our thanks to all of you who have visited the website over the last 12 years, joined the message board, Facebook group or follow us on  Twitter.  So on behalf of thhe pair of us, THANK YOU.

Transformers The Ride to open December 3rd in Singapore

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers The Ride to open December 3rd in Singapore.

AsiaOne.com are reporting that Transformers: The Ride will open in Singapore on December the third.

Here is a copy of the announcement

Come 3 December, Universal Studios Singapore (USS) will launch the world\'s first theme park attraction based on Hasbro\'s iconic Transformers brand.

Planning for this ride had started even before Resorts World Sentosa was built. From conceptualisation to construction, the latest theme park ride of USS took over four years to complete.

This motion thrill ride will showcase the most advanced evolution of immersive theme park entertainment.

The attraction will feature 12 scenes, comprising sets blended seamlessly with hyper-realistic 3-D digital media and special effects to bring tactile realism to every moment.

A spokesperson from Resorts World Singapore told AsiaOne that the ride duration is approximately four minutes, and that the ride is currently in a testing phase where it is put through thousands of hours of test cycles.

In this latest ride at USS, guests will be transported onboard advanced motion-based ride vehicles into th e Transformers universe, and partake in the ultimate 3D battle against the Decepticons right alongside the Autobots.

Enlisted as NEST recruits, guests are tasked to help the Autobots protect a remaining shard of the ALLSPARK â€" a powerful energy cube that gives life to the Transformers. As the Decepticons attack the facility in a bid to obtain the shard, guests will be introduced to a new Autobot â€" EVAC â€" created exclusively for the ride.

EVAC is a stealth transportation Autobot stationed on Earth designed to transport personnel and classified materials at hyper speeds. For the ride, park guests will board EVAC and zip through subway tunnels, down city streets and across rooftops, with the Decepticons hot on their heels.

Park guests, especially fans of Transformers, will be thrilled as they come face-to-face â€" and be transported â€" by an Autobot. This epic ride experience will allow guests the opportunity to truly \"Ride The Movie\".

Spec ial year-end holiday packages for Universal Studios Singapore will be rolled out through the Resorts World Sentosa website and authorized travel agents.

Guests signing up for these special packages will receive a Transformers The Ride commemorative souvenir and express entry to the attraction. More details will be available at www.rwsentosa.com.

Transformers movie director Michael Bay will be in S\'pore for launch party

Transformers The Ride will celebrate its world premier at an exclusive evening event on December 2.

Michael Bay, director and executive producer of the Transformers blockbuster movies who also served as the attraction\'s creative consultant, will be in attendance to help commemorate the occasion.

Mr. Michael Bay said: \"I am very excited about the debut of this attraction at Universal Studios Singapore. Finally, Transformers fans will not only have the chance to watch the Autobots battle the Decepticons on screen; they will actually be part of the action.\"

Ark Addendum Mircobots Part 1

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Ark Addendum Mircobots Part 1.

Jim Sorenson has posted a new additional to his Ark Addendum yesterday called Mircobots Part 1 .  Here\'s Jim to tell you all about it, though remember to click the link to view the character model.

\"This week in The Ark Addendum... MICROBOTS!  Part 1.  No, it\'s not a two-part episode, I just have some more designs from the episode.  Unusual ones... but we\'ll get to that next week.

This week\'s installment is the backgrounds and props from the episode.  As we all remember, the Decepticons discover the remains of their as-yet-unnamed starship, which Beast Wars would dub Nemesis.  Inside is the Heart of Cybertron, which powers up Megatron and prompts the Autobots to shrink down, Fantastic Voyage style, and infiltrate Megatron\'s body.

To me, the stand-out models here are Floro Dery\'s take on Megatron\'s insides.  He reused some of this imagery for the inside of Unicron a little later.  It\'s just a lovely alien landscape, bizarre and compelling.  Hats off to you, sir, hats off.\"

Computer Problems At The Moon

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Computer Problems At The Moon.

As you have no doubt notice the number of updates to this website, including news stories, has gradualy become less and less over recent weeks and so I thought I would take the time to update you all as to why this is the case.

For those of you who do not know this website was set-up and run by some twins 12 years ago.  In fact the site first launched on the 29th October 1999.  However, for the last few years, as we have gotten older, both of our professional careers have taken up more and more of our free time.  Its fairly common for both of us to work 12-16 hour days and personally I have worked 37 hours straight only a few months ago.  Because of this the time we get to maintain the website code, add new galleries and launch new features has dwindled.  The last year has been especially difficult for us as my brother, who you may know as Moonbug, no longer lives in the same town as myself and he use to maintain a lot of the content whilst I was working on the code.  During this time, and indeed the year prior, I have been re-writing the whole website from the ground up.  What was suppose to have been a 6-8 month project has slipped to 2 years.   I was h oping to launch the website this month as a part of ther 12th year anniversary celebrations, however as of last night my the motherboard on my main computer has died.  The machine has been on its last legs for a while with both the graphics card and soundcard failing and finally the fan on the northbridge has once again packed in causing the board to overheat and fry.

The good news is that when the issues stared all of the data was backed up onto an external hard disk so I have, at most, lost about a few days worth of coding and 2 months worth of emails to an old email address.

I will continue to update the news from work, when I can as well as from home via my phone or this extremely low powered netbook whilst I order and re-build a new computer.

My brother is currently out of the country on holiday but once he is back I am sure that he will try to update the site as much as he can whilst I am unable to add new galleries, yes this netbook is that low powered it can\'t handle high res image editing.

I will continue to try to complete the last 3% of the website re-write as well as things are so close to launch but I wanted to let you all know that if things seem quiet around here for the next week or so it is not because the website has stopped, on the contrary, we have a lot of unique content that we have been preparing to add to the website from hard copies and testshots through cartoon models and behind the scenes Sunbow documents as well as general toy galleries.

What it does mean though, is the big celebration I was hoping to have to commemorate the 12th aniversary of the website will be delayed, perhaps to the 12th anniversary of the official launch of the site which was the 11th November 1999.

Thanks,

Steve AKA Quartz

MP-11 Corintation Starscream confirmed

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called MP-11 Corintation Starscream confirmed.

BigBadToyStore have sent some images to TFW2005.com of the upcoming Transformers Masterpiece MP-11 Starscream. The figure it set to be based on the Transformers The Movie Corination Scene, though the original version already came with a crown and cape.

Transformers Comics news

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers Comics news.

TFW2005.com were invited to a webinar with Hasbro and IDW comics to cover a bit on the close future of the Transformers Comics

After the Death of Optimus Prime (IDW #125, due in December), the \"War for Cybertron\" is officially over. The Autobots have won and took control of the planet. They are starting to rebuild. There is a choice though - stay or go. This is where the split into 2 books will happen. More Than Meets The Eye will follow Rodimus and his team, as they choose to leave Cybertron. Robots In Disguise will focus on the new leader, Bumblebee, and how he leads the remaining Autobots (and Decepticons, all Transformers for that matter), on Cybertron. Two books, one universe.

In
More Than Meets The Eye, Rodimus will lead at least the following bots - Ultra Magnus, Drift, Ratchet (they are seen on the multi cover images). We will follow them and whomever goes with them in space as they search for the \"Knights of Cybertron\" a legendary band of bots. They are not even sure if they are real. They supposedly have the power to return Cybertron to the \"Golden Age\" before the war. This group will run into remnants of the Great War on planets and locations that aren\'t yet aware it is over, as well as other conflicts. So even though the war is over, it is still an action book.

Robots In Disguise
will focus on Bumblebee and his attempts to rebuild Cybertron\'s society. Bots staying with \'Bee will include at least Ironhide, Prowl and Wheeljack. Thousands of neutral Transformers are returning home knowing the war is over. Cybertronians that fled the planet eons ago without choosing sides. Left over Decepticons are also present and need to be dealt with, re-integrated. Bumblebee doesn\'t want to return to the past; rather, he wants to forge a new future for their race. Here and now, moving forward. Managing all these factions and points of view is hard and we will follow his journey through that.

So basically - it is a
philosophical difference between groups of Autobots after the war. Do they look to the past and try to rediscover it, or move away from it look to the future. We follow each view point in the 2 books.

At first, there will be some cross over in the books. But after the \"split\" officially happens (I assume Rodimus rolls out with his crew to go planet hopping), the
books will be relatively independent of each other. There will be themes that may cross over, and Rodimus\' crew members may \"call home\" every so often. But otherwise, independent.

The way this is being pushed is that if you are new to the IDW universe, new to Transformers, or just want to jump back in,
this is a good point to do so. It\'s a reboot without losing the rich continuity they have built over the last 3 years.

Each issue ships with
5 variant covers, each shows the major players in each group, connected art covers. Will have Auto/Decept tattoos as well when they ship. 4 variants and one by series artist.

With that general back-story, I\'ll post brief QnA info from the event below. All paraphrased.

MTME/RID Questions

RE: Talent
No set time for arcs, writers, artists. Ongoing. Alex Milne, Guido, Roche, Wildman, Furman, all involved in something right now.

RE: Reading CHAOS first
Chaos - don\'t need to have read it, but reading Chaos will enhance the RID/MTMTE experience.

RE: Underused characters
Yes. Name tossed out - Metalhawk. Will still continue with core recognizable characters, but secondary guys will be worked in.

RE: Profile books (IDW Verse)
Chance.

RE: Decepticons
Starscream role in RID. Cyclonus even though in IDW not a Decept.

RE: Mini Series
Mini series to spin out from these series like Ironhide or Drift - not right now. Infestation and Original G1 are secondary books right now. Possible down the road.

RE: Furman on main continuity books
Loves work, but for now, he\'s on original and main is staffed well.

RE: Switching artists every 6 months
Not exact, but switch outs will happen.

RE: Cybertron modes
Wait and see.

RE: Decepticons
Play role - yes. Population of Decepticons in RID. Finding a place for Decepts in new world is a difficult challenge to overcome. Different way in MTMTE.

Non MTMTE/RID Questions:

RE: Last Stand of the Wreckers
Plans to continue - no chance right now.

RE: Legacy of Rust
Looking into it.

RE: Autoacrity
Expect announcement later. Set in past. Part of universe. Surprising revelations. Print/Digital - talk later.

Re: Prime Comic
No comment right now.

RE: Writing
Easier to write for these characters? - Always a challenge, but no different than other properties.

RE: G1 Collections
Will IDW continue to release G1 Marvel, collect full series, and will they do G2 in same way?
- Moving ahead, more coming, wait and see on where it goes. Not his personal dept so not 100% sure.

RE: Animated Comics
Not at the moment.

RE: Joe/TF Crossover
Not planned, but Infestation 2 is coming out.

RE: Release schedule
MTMTE week 1, RID week 3, etc - At first yes. Eventually, could change due to overall IDW scheduling. Also will try not to do 2/3 books of a single series in a row etc.

RE: Toys
Not his dept. :).

RE: Vetoing IDW ideas
Veto not a good word. Like to see all ideas, go nuts. If Hasbro needs to, will reel back in. With 1/2 exceptions, never vetoed idea. More of a collab, try to go back and forth until ideas work for everyone.

RE: Exodus/Exiles
More Novels? Stay tuned.

RE: Killing more characters
Not for an event just to sell books, but otherwise, no one is safe.

RE: Universes
Novels fall into current Prime Universe, Movie is own verse, and then IDW \"G1\" is another one.

RE: Other continuities
Right now - no plans to expand other continuities.

RE: War for Cybertron
Are the WFC games considered part of Prime continuity - YES. Quick and decisive answer.

RE: War for Cybertron Comics
WFC comics - no comment, don\'t read too much into that. Focus of this event is MTMTE/RID.

More Than Meets The Eye
and Robots In Disguise Issue #1\'s and their respective 5 covers each go on pre-order this Friday, make sure to add them to your pull lists or grab subscriptions how you normally do. They should be in stores this January.

\"Since announcing Larry Hama\'s attendance, there\'s a lot of excitement and interest in Roll Out Roll Call 2012, the UK Transformers, GI-Joe & Action Force show.  Want to know next 2 guests for Roll Out Roll Call 2012? Checkout & listen to Episode 25 of \"What\'s on JOE Mind\" for the exclusive new guest announcements: http://whatsonjoemind.podbean.com

In addition the details of the first Custom Competition are also up, check out the threads over at: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=10927

There will be more exclusive announcements over the next few weeks, so stay tuned or follow the show on Twitter @rolloutrollcall.\"

Transformers At The Moon will be in attendance at the event, as we are fans of both of these lines, and we are also please to announce that we are also sponsoring the event next year to try to help it grow.

If you come along to Auto Assembly every August you no doubt feel that a year is too long to meet-up with your Transformers friends, sure there is the odd meet-up arrange but most of us can\'t make them or justify the trips, but with Roll Out Roll Call there is a lot more going on to justify the journey.  You will have the social aspect, the dealers, panels, the cosplayer and, of course, the guests.  The events are almost 6 months apart giving everyone the best possible chance to make both events and help unite and strength the bonds of the fan communities for both these iconic lines.

I encourage you to keep you eye on the show, the official twitter account, Transformers At The Moon, Blood For The Baron, What\'s on Joe Mind, Full Metal Hero and The Nerdsphere for more announcements as the event gets closer.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron Cinematic Trailer

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers Fall of Cybertron Cinematic Trailer .

The Transformers Fall of Cybertron Cinematic Trailer has been posted on YouTube and can be viewed below.

KOToys to produce Cobra Cobra Rattle version of Powerglide

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called KOToys to produce Cobra Cobra Rattle version of Powerglide.

KOToys have announced that they will be producing a limited run of repaints of Transformers Universe Powerglide as PowerRat, a Cobra Rattler themed figure.

Mock-up images of the figure have been posted on their website along with the following announcement:

\"There will be a Limited edition of 500 pieces of POWERRAT - a CHMS KO KOToys Exclusive POWERGLIDE DECEPTICON COBRA RATTLER G.I.JOE TRANSFORMERS CROSSOVER.

This will be done in Rattler Matching Navy Blue, with Grey as the secondary color (Rattler Missile Grey)

The Paint scheme will be based on the following Black stickered Powerglide Photos Below.

The 41 on the front will be about 1/2 size as shown, as will the front nose Cobra Signs.  The 41 and front cobra sign will be on both sides of the Toy (in the photos there are stickers on only 1 Side.

The Wings and Tailfins will get Z06 and a Cobra sign as shown in the photos.  The rear Turbines will get the 41-88B markings (also might be trimmed down to half the size shown with the stickers.)

I added a poll to this thread to find out if people like this sticker selection.

Please keep in mind the proper colors rather then the black body.

The Nose will also get a black coat, and so will the body part of the front of the cockpit

The chest will get a grey decepticon Logo

The Heart will be painted Cobra Red.

I would like a snake wrapped around / going through the heart also - I think that would look kick ass - or the head of a cobra opening up in the center of the heart - but that paint job might be too much, so might just go red heart or if enough ppl convince me, black heart.

Face will be grey like the missiles with Red eyes and probably red 3rd eye/forehead dot

the crotch will only have the 2 outer details painted black (no paint where the black background is painted on the original Jizai toys powerglide - black paint will go where there is grey on the original )

IN ADDITION TO THE POWERRAT, there will be a Limited edition of 100 hot house (just opposite powerglide colors, no hot house stickers)
Limited edition 100 Gray DIY
Limited edition 100 Black DIY
Limited edition 500 Bad Boy
and Limited edition of 1000 Powerglides regular color - we will be getting 500 of those
and probably some DIY regular colors Red/Grey Powerglide kits (because the actual run of Powerglide is very small) probably 100 or 200 sets like this.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, a direct sequel to 2010 actioner War for Cybertron, is on its way. GameInformer has the scoop but is being stingy with the details, only revealing that High Moon Studios returns on dev duty and that the Activision-published game continues the story of the civil war raging between the Autobots and Decepticons. Its report claims that the title \"changes and improves upon so many of the fundamental ideas that the developer considers the game a natural successor rather than a true sequel.\"
