Simon Furman blogs Nefarious Issue 5

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Simon Furman blogs Nefarious Issue 5.

Transformers own legendary scribe Simon Furman has updated his blog with a new article entitled Script (W)Rap â€" Nefarious #5

\"As, once again, we’re reasonably close to publication date, this script (w)rap also serves as pre-release teaser for Transformers: Nefarious #5, the penultimate issue of the official comic book sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Spoilers ahoy, though as always I will try not to give away too much here. So â€" the pieces are all in place. Soundwave has tried and failed to crack the remarkably resilient nut that is The Initiative (the human organization with some long-standing ties and kind-sized grudges to/against the earliest Transformers to reach Earth â€" Seekers). So now it’s a joint offensive, Soundwave and the Autobots â€" together. But first they have to find the Initiative, who â€" it soon becomes apparent â€" aren’t just going to sit still and wait for the next attack. And just what did (or who did) happen to Soundwave last issue? What isn’t he telling his newfound Autobot allies? And just who is the Seeker incarcerated within the Initiative’s base? Carter Newell, the embittered and vengeful mastermind behind the Initiative, takes a big step towards the glorious realization of a plan seventy years in the making. Trouble is, in achieving his ends, he may also wipe out the entire world! Story is by me, art by the ever-magnificent Carlos Magno. The issue should be in stores on 14th (US) or 15th (UK) of July.\"

Video from set of TF3

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Video from set of TF3.

YouTube user nando323 has posted a video on You Tube titled Transformers 3 Movie filming on 43th Street and Main in which you can make out the vehicle representations of Bumblebee along side the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Convertible Corvette Stingray.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe originally used the Corvette mode, so it is highly likely this will simply be an upgraded form for that character.  Sideswipe had a short role and one line in the second live action Transformers Movie.

The character represented by the Ferrari is still unknown.

For Âthose wondering, Mattle now has the rights to the original Corvette Stingray car (for toy representations), so the change in model with keep the agreement between GM and Hasbro.

Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2010.

Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2010...

If you haven\'t already bought your ticket yet, there are now just under eight weeks to go until Europe\'s largest Transformers convention, Auto Assembly 2010 and tickets are selling FAST!!

This year is going to be bigger and better than ever with our most exciting programme of activities and guests yet. The convention is taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England.

As always it will be a packed weekend featuring guest panels, toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, our new Game Zone showcasing 25 years of Transformers video games from the first ever game released for the Commodore 64 right up to War For Cybertron with almost every game being playable over the weekend, free workshops run by many of our guests, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced!

There will also be Friday and Saturday evening programmes, exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a party, a concert by rock band Next Of Kin (including a Transformers themed set with music from the 1986 animated movie!), musical performances by Scott McNeil and Garry Chalk, costume competition, and our voice actors will take to the stage to perform a BRAND NEW script written by Simon Furman and we have a few more surprises in store...!

We believe that this is our best guest line-up ever for Auto Assembly. We have three guests of honour for the convention - Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil and Derrick J Wyatt and no less than 8 comic guests - Simon Furman, Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, Simon Williams, Liam Shalloo, Kris Carter, Jason Cardy and Kat Nicholson and all our guests will be signing autographs and available to meet fans all weekend and each will take to the stage for a Q&A session during the convention. Most of our comic guests will also be sketching for attendees.

Because of the venue size, we are restricting attendance to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which will be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be CLOSING registrations so if you want to attend Europe\'s largest Transformers convention, you need to hurry and get your tickets now as we have already had just under 400 pre-registrants! With an estimated total allowance of 625, and us about to enter our bookings \"rush period\", you need to book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!

Despite our running costs increasing for this year, we have frozen ticket prices from Auto Assembly 2009 and they are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145. Single day passes are available at reduced rates but these are VERY limited and start from just £18 but these are selling fast and we now only have TWENTY Saturday tickets remaining. If you can\'t make it, we have our excellent Non-Attendee Pack with prices starting from £70!

For those of you planning on attending from outside the UK, it\'s a lot cheaper than you might think... with the current state of the pound, many currencies are faring quite well at the moment and flights to the UK are not too expensive. For example, if you are travelling from the USA, you could cover your flight, registration AND hotel accommodation for under $1,500!!

For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

We hope to see you all in August 2010.

Behind the scenes look at The Allspark Almanac II - part 2

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Behind the scenes look at The Allspark Almanac II - part 2.

Jim Sorenson has update his blog, the Disciples of Boltax with another behind the scenes look at the soon to be released AllSpark Almanac II.

How time sneaks up on us! The AllSpark Almanac II is a mere twelve days away, and betwix now and then there is the juggernaut that is BotCon! So, without further ado, let\'s start with some previews for the upcoming Almanac.

I figured I\'d start in an unusual direction; last year, the first preview images were tiny little snippets and sketches, designed to tease without giving too much away. This year, that\'d be less effective; you all know approximately what the book will look like. Instead, how about some images that WON\'T be in the book? Ideas and characters that we considered using but rejected for whatever reason: time, space, a better idea, etc.

Click the link to view the blog entry and the image.

Remember that if you if you can get to Birmingham England in August, that Transformers Animated lead designer Derrick Wyatt will be attending Auto Assembly 2010, so you can bring along your copy of The Allspark Almanac II and get it signed.

TF NEFARIOUS #4 – SCRIPT (W)RAP

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called TF NEFARIOUS #4 â€" SCRIPT (W)RAP.

Simon Furman has updated his blog with another Script (W)rap entry.

A sort of combined deal this time around, a script (w)rap for Transformers Nefarious #4 and also a pre-release teaser for the same, as it hits stores this coming week (June 16th in the US, 17th in the UK). Last issue saw Soundwave slip through the Autobots’ collective fingers and this issue he’s decided enough is enough. The human organization responsible for both the resurrection/usurping of Ravage and the manipulations that landed Soundwave in trouble in the first place is going down â€" hard! But the Initiative has tricks up its sleeve that, once again, even Soundwave hasn’t seen coming. And at last we learn some of the how and why about this mysterious and far-reaching organization (which seems to have an uncanny grasp of Cybertronian technology) and its coldly calculating director, Carter Newell. Just how long does his relationship with the robots in disguise go back? What traumatic event eventually gave rise to the Initiative? The answers will surprise you. And, meanwhile, director of national security Theodore Galloway is well and truly in the firing line â€" hunted by none other than Ransack! Things are looking distinctly terminal in that direction! Nefarious #4 is out in the next few days, with story by me art by the incredible Carlos Magno. Don’t miss it!

SlashFilm talk Transformers 3d main villian for third movie and more

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called SlashFilm talk Transformers 3d main villian for third movie and more.

SlashFilm have posted an article regarding the third live action Transformers film, still as yet unnamed, which covers some plot details, confirmation that the film will also see a 3D release (as was expected) and just who the main villain will be this time around.

* Final confirmation that movie will be released in 3D. No word on if it will be shot in 3D or converted in post. Knowing Bay\'s obsession with film, I\'m assuming he agreed on a post process.
* The villain in Transformers 3 is \"Shockwave, the robot cyclops-turned-laser-cannon, who became dictator of their home world of Cybertron after the other Autobots and Decepticons journeyed to Earth.\" Makes sense.
* Bay claims \"One thing we\'re getting rid of is what I call the dorky comedy\" adding the The Twins are \"basically gone\" but comic relief John Turturro returns. Bay\'s \"basically gone\" comment seems to confirm that they have a short appearance in the film.
* In the new film Sam Witwicky is \"taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime. \"Shia has this great line: \'You know, I\'ve saved the world twice, but I can\'t get a job.\'\" Okay, so Transformers is never gonna get a screenplay nomination at the Academy Awards.
* The plot also \"delves into the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet\'s most dangerous secrets. \"The movie is more of a mystery,\" Bay says. \"It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened.\"
* Transformers 3 is the end of a trilogy. Bay says \"As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.\" It basically sounds like Bay is done with the series, and the ending of the movie is a finale of sorts.
* The film also features a set \"built to resemble a dilapidated nuclear reactor.\"
